This is my completed front cover, I have added more images as this is a convention of pop music magazines.

I have updated my double page spread by firstly, adding the stripe pattern next to the title. I did this as it makes the title stand out and look a lot nicer, but also to keep the house style as in the contents page I have also used stripes but for the background. I have also put the the actual text onto the page and made the text font to be in a serif font as that is what all magazines use for the actual text, as it is easier to read. I have made the interview questions to be in a different font and colour so the reader will be able to see the questions clearly. I have also added an extra image where the text is, as it matches with the interview and what's being said. All I need to do now is check through the text and I will be finished.

I have added a variety of images next to the main image which I have used. This is so that there are many different types of images for the reader to look at, also looking at my research of other pop music magazines, pop magazines aimed at girls contain many images on articles such as interviews. I have also added an image with the models fingers on her lips, this was so that it reflects the title of "seven secrets."

Research and Planning - Front Cover Background

 

From the feedback that I got from my target audience, some people suggested that I change the background colour. here I have changed the background colour. However, I am going to keep the background colour to be white, as I think this looks est and also most pop music magazines have a plain white background.

I have updated my magazine front cover by adding more cover lines to cover the white space. I have also changed the direction of the barcode sign this is because by having it postitioned in the way it is now, makes it look more level with the text. I now need to add a couple of images in order to be complete.

I have changed the features box by just making it have a border which is in colour. I did this as I think it makes it look a lot more nicer, as by having it in the colour pink it made it clash too much with background of stripes, so by having the box to be in whie instead makes the contents page look more organised and neat. I have also added a varety of images of things such as, make-up and accessories, this is so that there are a range of images, also as there many different types of images in pop music magazines.

I have nearly completed my front cover. I have added some images, though I will be adding some more as in pop magazines aimed at girls there tens to be a lo of images on the cover. I will also need to add more cover lines to cover up all the white space, as pop magazine front covers usually conatain a lot of information and images making the front cover overall look rather busy.

I have added the editors message as from the  research from my target audience, I found out that this is something which is popular within magazines aimed at girls. I have also changed my magazine by making the "features" section smaller to enable me to add an editors message, and I also think it looks better being smaller so that it will stand out from the rest of the titles. I have also added two extra boxes benath the large image, I did this so I can put images inside them instead, as I think it will look a lot more neater.

I have nearly completed my contents page all I have to now is add some extra stories on the "regular" section, to fill int he white space. I have added a variety of images as this will b appealing to mytarget audience of teenage girls. I have also added more stories such as competitions. This will be appealing to my target audience as looking at pop magazines, many of them which are aimed at girls contain a lot of competitions.

• So you are 17 and just released an album which peaked number 1 in the UK and US, how does it feel?

It's amazing you know, this has been my dream ever since I was a little girl, I really didn't expect it to go to number 1 either I was so shocked when I found out, my mum came into my room and told me, and I just started to scream *laughs*.

• Since you are a college student, how are you continuing with your education?

It's difficult really trying to keep up with my studies, as well promoting the album, so I just have to work as hard as I possibly can, though I do have a tutor with me everywhere I go so... on my schedule I always have times where I'll sit with her for a couple of hours and do all my work.

• What were your friends reactions to your success and also leaving college to promote your album?

They were really happy about it and supporting me and I am so grateful for the support they have given me, because being in the music industry it does get hard sometimes, they all cried when I left and I cried *laughs* but sacrifices have to be made.

• Tell us about the music from the album and why you decided to call it "Jukebox"?

I decided to call it "jukebox" 'cause there's all sorts of different music in there really, no interesting story behind it *laughs* and the music well... I just wanted it to be very versatile so when people listen to the album there'll be all types of different songs, I mean it's boring listening to the same types of sounds again, the songs are also fun and young nothing too serious.

• Who inspired you?

Michael Jackson. He is my favourite singer and he has made so many different types of songs, and there isn't one which I don't like, so I listened to a lot of his music, and even some of my songs I tried to make it have a Michael Jackson vibe to it *laughs* , but he is really successful if not the most successfull artist of all time, so I definatly look up to him.

• Your Favourite - singer, food, TV show, city, superhero and foreign accent

Singer - Michael Jackson, ummm my favourite food... Pizaa, TV show... I love the Vampire Diaries oh my gosh! it is awesome! I want to be in one of the episodes *laughs* City would have to be Los Angeles, I've always wanted to go there and it was an amazing experirence when I had the chance to go, superhero this one is easy Batman he's the best *laughs* foreign accent? That's a tricky one umm... I don't know australian. *laughs*

• Tell us about your most satisfying act of revenge?

Yes! I love this! I once pulled a prank on Ellen DeGeneres when I went on her show and it was a big deal, 'cause no one has ever managed to prank her. So I went into her dressing room and took everything out - EVERYTHING. She came inside and was freaking out, and then I jumped from behind the sofa and she nearly had a heartattack, she tripped and fell on the floor, it was the best thing ever! *laughs* I did on behalf of everyone she's pulled a prank on.

• Who has the worst voice in pop?

I think I'll pass this one *laughs* because If I say and I ever meet them it will be pretty awkward.

• We heard you met One Direction who was your least favourite band memeber?

That's so mean I love them all they're all really funny and just fun to hang around with, Harry is crazy, Zayn is rather shy, Niall loves food *laughs* , Liam is very down to earth, and Louis is very funny.

• Who are your past celebrity crushes?

The Jonas Brothers I used to love them when I was younger and I still do, Zac Effron I think everyone liked him after watching High School Musical *laughs*.

• What are your seven secrets that you'll be able to share with us?

Gosh seven? That's a lot! Ok I have to admit it but I HAVE BIEBER FEVER! I just love Justin Bieber's new album at the moment I think it's brilliant, this is pretty sad but i've memorsied all the lines to the Disney film Toy Story 3 *laughs* I've just watched it so many times. One time at school I got suspended for having a fight yeah ... I had a fight but it was more verbal than physical *laughs*, after I watch a superhero film I act like that superhero for the whole day, I did that after watching 'The Amazing Spiderman', I do think Hogwarts exists in real life, this is embarrassing but when I was younger, and the ice-cream van used to come and they would play that song, my mum convinced me that it was really the police, now for the seventh I saved the best for last  - I will be going on tour and the UK  dates will go on sale 17th February 2013 I'm really excited!

Research and Planning - Main Model

This is the main model which I used for my magazine. The first image is what I have used for my double pagae spread, she also wore the same outfit for the front cover image. I think the colour of her scarf and shirt - pink and blue will suit the pop genre, as pink is a feminine colour, and light blue is also a colour which girls prefer to a darker shade of blue, stereotypically. The second image I am going to use also for my double page spread, she is wearing different clothes as my audience feedback suggested, I should make my models wear different clothing. I also think her top being a birght light blue, again suits the pop genre. The jewellery she is also wearing in both images add to genre of the magazine, pop magazines include things like fashion, so by making her wear jewellery will also appeal to the target audience of girls aged 14-18.

Research and Planning - Double Page Spread Layouts

Here I have done some reserach on the layout of interviews on music magazines. They all have a similar layout by having one page with a large image, and then the other page with the actual interview. This is what I am going to do in my magazine. The middle image however, is from a pop magazine, and it contains more images, I will also be ding this as by having a few images it will relate to the genre of pop more, as images will make it look less formal and more fun, which suits the pop genre.
